Shane Bridwell

Shane Alan David Bridwell, aka “On Time”, passed away peacefully early morning January 30th,2024, at the age of 49. He was born on August 20th, 1974, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. But was raised in Terre Haute, Indiana by his mother Anne, his grandparent Hester and his great grandmother Groverentta and her husband Cecil. He joined the Army in 1993 at the age of 19, and graduated from Fort Benning, GA, a part of Delta 2nd/58th Infantry on February 25th, 1994. After graduating from basic training, Shane was stationed in Fort Brag, where he served in the 82nd Air Borne Division apart of 1st/504th.  

Shane and Tonya met in September 1994 at her job at the time. They later married on April 25th, 1996, at the Fayetteville Police Station, the only place where they found a Justice of the Peace available at the time. After serving in the Army, Shane and Tonya moved to Florida where they raised their family and where he worked as an AC Technician, up until his passing.    

While Shane left us far too soon, the impact he had on those he crossed paths with will be felt for a lifetime. While his family is heartbroken over the sudden loss of Shane, they will forever remember him as a loving, hardworking, and caring father and grandfather. He was a man of few words until he got to know you. He made many sacrifices for his family and friends, leaving little time for himself. When he did have time for himself, he could be found with his family and friends, out riding his bike with his club, or at home in his favorite chair watching TV or playing video games. He was passionate about giving back to others, and always put others first. Shane held many titles in his life, but his favorite role was being a father and a grandfather. He especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.  

Shane is survived by his Wife Tonya; five children, Kimberly, Cortney, Shiane, Robbie and Christopher; and his five grandchildren, Michael, Iris, Atton, Olivia and Bailey; and his sister Brandi Fowler.
