Rudy Lauth, age 91, of Englewood, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2023. Rudy was born in Queens, NY to Gottfried (Fred) Lauth and Eugenia (Jeanie Kruse) of Krefeld, Germany. Rudy was an Air Force Veteran, serving in the Korean war and reserves. After marrying Florence (Backitis), Rudy moved to Wilkes-Barre, PA where he worked at the Citizen's Voice Newspaper and raised his family. After retirement, Rudy relocated to Florida where he enjoyed fishing, bowling, traveling, playing cards, casino bus trips, and spending time with his family and friends.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents (Fred and Jeanie) as well as, by his brothers (John, Walter, Edward and Fred Jr.).
He is survived by his brother Ernie Lauth of New York, his loving wife of 60 years, Florence Lauth (Backitis) of Englewood, Fl and three daughters Susan Munoz, Diane Kiernan, and Deborah Laudenslager; his 5 grandchildren Sydney Santos, Rudi Laudenslager, Sabrina Munoz, Kasey Martin, Mitchell Martin and one great grandson Julian Santos.
Interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery.
