Richard Nelson

Richard Keith Nelson, 98 of Sarasota FL., passed away on October1, 2024. Keith was a dedicated family man as well as a long career in banking in Massachusetts.

Keith was noted by his commitment to his family, his profession and his church.

Keith was born on September 3, 1926 in Beachmont, Massachusetts and devoted 30 years of his life to the now Bank of America, formally Middlesex County National Bank in Stoneham MA. Where he also resided. His military service was spent in the Army, right from high school during WWIl with the majority of that time in the Phillipines.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marion E. Nelson, (Allan) and three sons, Richard Jr, David S and his wife Dawn and Alan W and his wife Marjorie. Also survived by his grandchildren, David Nelson Jr, Peter Nelson, both of CA Jacob Nelson, Erik Nelson and Nickolas Nelson of FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert R Nelson and Lillian L (Vargus) Nelson.

Keith's interests were also his passions which included, woodworking and fine furniture creations, an avid chess player, classical music, gardening and traveled most of the country along side his wife Marion and his sons. He was also a dedicated member of the First Congregational Church in Stoneham, MA and held various roles including Sunday school teacher, Men's club member, Treasurer, Christian Education, and Board of Trustees chairman.

A service to honor Keith's life will be held at the Sarasota Veterans National Cemetery at a future date.
