Richard Justice Obituary

Richard Allen Justice, born July 6 th , 1944 in Columbus, Ohio, passed away, at the age of 79,
surrounded by loved ones on February 17, 2024 in Sarasota, Florida.

He retired as a building inspector in Manatee County and worked in the construction
industry previously, as well as City hall, Sarasota County. His ingenuitive spirit permeated
his early entrepreneurial career as a business owner and his character of selflessness was
a way of life by always being ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. As a graduate
of Sarasota High School, his family had a rich history in the Sarasota area with many
homes being built by him and his father who was also in the construction industry.

Richard was preceded in death by, his parents Harry O. Justice of Ohio and Juanita P.
Justice of Ohio along with his brother Conrad R. Justice. He is survived by his love “Jan”
whom brought a smile to his face and a twinkle in his eye to the very end. He is also
survived by his son Jonathan Justice of Searcy, Arkansas; his daughter Lori Larson of
Pensacola; Florida, and son Phil Justice of Sarasota, Florida; as well as 10 Grandchildren
and four Great Grandchildren.

He loved boating, working on cars, fishing, scuba diving, and dancing the night away. He
loved music and was so talented he could play most instruments from the Trumpet, to the
organ, to the accordion. He was known as a man of great character illustrated by his
honesty, dependability, and strong work ethic. Richard was a friend to many and would give
the shirt off his back if necessary. He believed in a firm handshake, being a man of his
word, and helping his fellow man. This is the legacy he leaves to his family Honor, Integrity,
and Love. A Life well lived!
