Richard L Dunn

Richard Lewis Dunn passed away peacefully on March 30, 2026.  He was surrounded by family at the Venice Hospice house.  He was known as Dunny or Richie to most.  Richie lived the past 36 years with heart complications, living his life on his own terms right up to the end.  His heart functioning at around 25% capacity never stopped him from living.  Richie's running joke was that he was living with one foot in the grave and the other foot on a banana peel. 

   Richie was born in Concord, MA on October 22, 1944.  He was the son of John B. Dunn and Blanche (Reeves) Luca.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving sister, Eleanor and his two brothers, Carmen and James.  As well as his partners, Patricia Alyce (Kerr) Brady, Susan Ellen (Solo) Dunn, and Janet (Saaristo) McKean, and his son in law Charlie Noke.  

   Richie's legacy is carried on through his family.  Daughter - Wendy Noke and her fiance David Boliver.  Son - Michael Dunn.  Daughter - Monique Harpin and her husband Tim.  Son - Christopher Dunn and his fiance Allen Diang.  Step son - Robert McKean and his wife Roeuny.  Step son - Christopher McKean and his wife Laura. 

   Richie had 13 grandchildren - Darryl and Stephanie Noke.  Emily and Michelle Dunn.  Kaila, Tim jr., Vincent "Paul", and Rachelle Harpin.  Alyssa, Ella, Brady, Rachel, and Ryan Mckean.  7 great grandchildren - Julianna, Logan, Vannessa, and Jaxon Noke and Emery, Rozaleena, and Izzabella Harpin. 

   He is survived by his brothers, John and Robert Dunn. His girlfriend and partner, Marilyn Bean, and lifelong family friend Harry Boufard.  

   Richie was a man of great wisdom.  He left education after 8th grade.  He became a true jack of all trades and he mastered skills not taught in the classroom.  

   He was the face known by many at Dunn Oil Company / Dunn energy, he even had the business phone at home to take night calls.  He helped his great friend Danny with Heritage Heating, and retired from Atlas oil.  Dunny's knowledge was legendary!  

   Richie was a proud member of the Elks, Sons of Amvets, and Holiday Park Men's Club.  He played Bocci, cards, darts, pool, and beanbag baseball right up to the day he entered the hospital. 

   Richie's hands were never idle.  He was a very gifted man.  Dunny fixed anything that came across his path.  He created and built much; stained glass, wooden birds, jewelry boxes, wooden bowls and 3D cutting boards thanks to his great friend Denis.  He crafted scoreboards and card holders for Holiday Park activities.  This left a tangible mark in the community of his creativity and generosity. 

   A song always in his heart, singing to those he loved most.  His stubbornness was tempered by his big heart, willing to help others in his community at all times.  Richie's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who brought joy and happiness into his life.  His chosen family at Holiday Park, Northport FL, Old Orchard Beach Maine, and all his chosen family from MA.  You all hold a special place in his heart. 

   Richie chose FL as his full time residence.  His family's ability to travel was limited by distance, work, and finances, not by a lack of love, care or concern.  A special thanks to Slotteo, Barbara, June, Jan, Ellen, Dan, Monica, Denis, Mike, Gary, and anyone else we forgot to mention.  We especially want to thank Marilyn and her daughter Diane for the remarkable care during his hospital stay.  You truly made all the difference!
