Raymond Bennett joined his wife Margaret in the afterlife on June 30th, 2023. Ray was born on the last day of January 1943 in Hempstead, NY. He married Margaret on the first day of December 1962 after which he fathered four children- Thomas “Tommy”, Madeline “Maddy”, George “G”, and Charles “Chuck”. Between 1969-1971, he was a Private 1st Class Rifleman in the U.S. Army. During 1985, he relocated his family to Sarasota, FL where he became an avid fisherman and marine mechanic. In his final decade of life, he commemorated 50 years of marriage with Margaret, delighted in many visits to Sweet Berries with his two grandchildren, and enjoyed a trip to the Nascar Hall of Fame. Remembering him always will be his son Tommy with grandson Charlie, daughter Maddy, son George with daughter-in-law Nicole and granddaughter Elli, and son Chuck as well as many close family and friends.
Service at the National Cemetery in Sarasota will be held on 08/10/2023 at 1:30 pm as Ray and Margaret are joined back together and placed for final resting.
