Norman J. Miller, age 87, of Sarasota, Florida (formerly Pittsburgh Pennsylvania), passed away at Tidewell hospice on Monday, April 1, 2024, following a protracted illness. In his final days, Norm was surrounded by his adoring family.
Norm was born on March 22, 1937 to Ralph and Margaret (Kichty) Miller of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A graduate of St. Canice High School, Norm served two years in the United States Army before launching a successful 40-plus year career as a warehouse and trucking manager for GENCO, a third party logistics company based in Pittsburgh.
Preceded in death by his parents, Norm is survived by Rose Marie (Bednarski) Miller, his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, and their three children: Joseph (Lisa) Miller of Pittsburgh, Deborah (A. J. Burke) of Cope,South Carolina and James (Tammy) of Pittsburgh, as well as seven grandchildren:
Jessica Miller, Joseph Miller Matthew Miller, Maggie Burke, Emma Burke, Joshua Miller and Tyler Miller, and one great granddaughter (Charlotte).
A private memorial service and celebration of a life well lived will be held by family and close friends.
