Nathan is survived by:
His mother, Margaret Deen
His sister: Michael Deen Curry
His son: Jeremy Deen
Nathan was known as the Waffle House Poet. He was an avid writer. He loved to write
poetry and do spoken word. He kept extensive journals full of his writing. He was
charismatic and sarcastic. He cooked for many Waffle House restaurants in Georgia. He
loved Canadian singer-songwriter and poet, Leonard Cohen. He would often quote
verbatim lines of poetry or song lyrics that fit the moment. He was a dreamer with a
vivid imagination, but often felt lost in life. Though he struggled throughout his life with
addiction, he was loved by many, most of which all say that they will miss his
conversations. He loved to wax philosophical about everything and nothing. He was a
one of a kind, a poetic vagabond searching for his place in this world and now his soul is
finally at peace.
