Marvin Yale Langer, 95, of Sarasota, FL passed away peacefully on
September 16, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born in
Detroit, MI on July 21st, 1930 to parents Carl and Yetta Langer. Marvin was
a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and family friend.
He was raised in Michigan but moved to Lakeland, FL to raise his family and
develop his investments and real estate businesses. He was also involved in
family businesses, including orange groves and property development.
Marvin later relocated his family to the Sarasota, FL area. There he
developed multiple pieces of real estate properties and leased the Banyan Bay
Club on Longboat Key, FL.
Marvin was known for his witty humor, tremendous giving heart, and love of
life. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and taking
road trips. He Graduated from the University of Colorado, Boulder and was
very proud of his service in the Air Force. He was an avid golfer and even
earned two holes in one in 1976 at the Longboat Key Club. Marvin also
enjoyed boating, snow skiing, traveling, and attending cultural events. He
was always supportive of his children and guided them through the pitfalls of
life whenever they were hit and celebrated their successes with great joy. Dad
always followed the activities of his children with excitement and love. His
grandchildren and great-grandchild were the loves of his life. He was filled
with love, music, and laughter.
He is survived by his Wife, Judy Langer, Sarasota, FL; Sister, Toby Etkin,
MI and Sarasota, FL; Son, Tony Langer and his wife, Deborah Langer,
Sarasota, FL; Daughter, Janelle Haysman and husband, Arnold Haysman,
Woodstock, GA; and Son Marc Langer, Sarasota, FL. He also leaves behind
his grandchildren Edie and Spencer Paterson, Bonita Springs, FL; Emma
Langer, Venice FL; Evan Langer, Sarasota, FL; Riley Dunn, Sarasota, FL;
Brianna and Chadd Oglesby, Boston, MA; Shaina and Adam Kull,
Woodstock, GA; Jeremy Haysman, Marietta, GA; Miles and Alex Haysman,
Royal Oak, MI, Jon Langer and , Great Granddaughter Kayla Langer both of Mesa AZ;
and great-grandchild Alexander Langer, Venice, FL. He was
preceded in death by his son, Eric Langer.
