Gunnery Sergeant Lewis T. Brown Jr, a proud United States Marine Corps veteran,
passed away on December 24, 2023.
The oldest son of Lewis T. Sr. and Addie Brown. Lewis T. Brown Jr. was born
and raised in Bradenton, Florida, and attended Lincoln Memorial High School
in Palmetto, Florida, and went to college at Rochester Institute of Technology
in Rochester, New York.
At the young age of 20, Lewis T. Brown Jr enlisted in the United States Marine
Corps. He valued this service highly as a Force Recon Marine and attained the
rank of E7. Gunnery Sergeant Lewis T. Brown Jr fought in the Vietnam War; as
part of this service, he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal, Arm Forces
Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service
Medal, and Rifle Badge-Expert Medal, to name a few.
Lewis T. Brown Jr is survived by seven children: Sheila (George)Perry, Lewis
(Rosa) Brown, Darryl (Lillie)Brown, Clarence (Petrina) Brown, Rodney Brown,
LaShanda(Albert) O’Neil, Roshanda Brown, one sister Barbara Withers, He
has 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren
and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Lewis T. Brown Jr.s loved ones will remember him as a man of God who
ministered the gospel in the early 80’s, serving the members of the Faith
Covenant National Church of God. Bishop Brown was always loving,
supportive, and dedicated to his friends and family. He loved making his family
laugh with his comedic personality.
