Leslie Edward Claxton
July 10, 1954 – February 5, 2025
Leslie Edward Claxton was born in Lowville, New York. In 1967, he moved to Florida with his parents. After his father’s passing in 1969, his mother remarried a circus bandleader and trumpet player, setting the stage for a life filled with adventure.
At 15, Les embarked on a remarkable 20-year journey with the circus, beginning as “The Electric Boy” while playing drums. When the show was off the road, he put his skills to use as an electrician and later as a truck mechanic.
After retiring from the circus, Les continued his hands-on work as a maintenance professional at Sun-N-Fun Resort in Sarasota, Florida.
Beyond his career, Les had a passion for playing pool. He was an active member of the American Cue Sports Alliance and the Sarasota Pool League, where he honed his skills and built lasting friendships.
Les was also a writer at heart. In 2024, he published his book, Bad Trip, through Page Publishing.
He will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, craftsmanship, and love of the game.
