Lawrence (Larry) Elsik, 92, of Bradenton, Florida passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025.
He was born on September 4, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois to Joseph and Florence (Zoretic) Elsik.
He enlisted in the US Marine Corps in 1953 and then went on to become a Professional Painter
and Interior Designer in Chicago. He relocated his painting business to Bradenton and has been a
resident since 1969.
He is preceded in death by Opal Taylor, love of his life and longtime companion of 38 years. He is
survived by his daughter, Laura Jean Big Eagle, sister, Joane Schrieder and cousins Gail Prchal
and Gloria Dusatko.
He was an accomplished guitarist and musician and was fondly known as the honkey tonk man
for his love of singing and dancing to his boogie woogie tunes and country music. He was a
friend to all and his jokes and big smile will forever live in our hearts.
We all wish that you Rest in Peace Larry with your beautiful Opal.
A celebration of life will be held at Verna Bethany Baptist Church and Cemetery, on a future date
to be determined.
