Jeanne S. Hamlin, 84 years young passed away February 2, 2023, at her home in Rotunda West, Florida due to complications from the Coronavirus. She was born in Damariscotta, Maine to Fred Hilton and Marjorie (Quinn) Soule August 1, 1938. She graduated Morse High School in Bath Maine and then joined the United States Army (WAC) in 1957. During her tour as a Signal Soldier, she met the love of her life John Lawton Hamlin. Married in 1957, they welcomed their two children Kimberly (1959) and John Michael Dean (1962).
They spent over thirty years in and around the Concord, New Hampshire area raising their children. In 1972 Jeanne earned her Nursing degree at the New Hampshire Technical Institute and became a Registered Nurse. She was dedicated to her patients and followed her calling to become a geriatric nurse for the Havenwood Retirement Home for over 20 years.
In 1995, she retired from nursing and became an avid golfer. In 2004 both she and John moved permanently to Rotunda, West Florida where they both played golf year-round. Jeanne also enjoyed playing cards, board games and the piano. She supported their local church and other community events to help school age children in need get school meals and supplies.
Jeanne was predeceased by her parents Fred and Marjorie Quinn Soule, and her sister Ruth Soule Hale. She is survived by her loving husband John, her daughter Kimberly, her son Michael, his wife Teresa (Romano) and her two grandchildren Quinn and Emma Hamlin.
Memorial Services will be conducted at The Sarasota National Cemetery, February 10, 2023, at 3:00 PM.
