Edward D. Brown

Edward Brown, age 97, passed away on March 4, 2023.

Edward Brown was born in New York City on December 31, 1925. He graduated from high school at Valley Forge Military Academy in 1944 and volunteered for induction into the 134th infantry regiment, 35th infantry division of Patton's Third Army. There, he was shipped overseas for the Battle of the Bulge; an injury to his hand and shin during this conflict earned him two Purple Hearts.

Post-World War II, he completed a degree in government studies at the College of William and Mary and went on to enjoy a fruitful career in the advertising industry. A retired full colonel with 30 years in the Army Reserves, Brown retired to Sarasota.

Predeceased by parents Beatrice Gardner and Edward Brown Sr. as well as his sister, Ellen Brown Cohn, and cousin, Peter Shacker, Edward Brown is survived by his cousin Marianna Shacker, nephew James Cohn, and his loving and devoted niece, Jody Hirsch.
