Carl Francis Steinfield

STEINFIELD, Carl Francis, age 93, of Claremont, NH and Sarasota, FL, passed away on
Thursday, July 4, 2024 in Sarasota Florida.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 13 at 1:30 p.m at Sarasota National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by All Veterans-All Families Funeral and Cremations of Sarasota, Florida. A
separate memorial service will take place at Etz Hayim Synagogue in Derry, NH in the fall.

Carl was born in Boston, MA to Jane (Goldman) and Samuel Steinfield. He graduated as
salutatorian from Stevens High School in Claremont, NH and received his Bachelor’s from
Princeton University. Carl entered the Navy and flew S2Fs while serving on the U.S.S. Leyte. He
left active duty in 1957 and was a Reservist until 1959. He then worked as a salesman for
Claremont Flock, Inc and subsequently became president of the company until his retirement.
Carl married Patricial (Benoit) Steinfield in 1957 and enjoyed 43 years of marriage before she
passed away from cancer. Carl married Miriam [Bunny] (Rand) Steinfield in 2002; they were
married for 22 years until his passing, living in Newberry, NH and then relocating to Sarasota.

While living in Sarasota, Carl took great joy volunteering as an usher at the Van Wezel
Performing Arts Hall. Not only was he able to see great shows, but also to “schmooze” with the
guests. Golf was Carl's choice of sports.

But flying was a lifelong passion; he was instrumental in supporting and maintaining Claremont
Municipal Airport and never missed an opportunity to get up in the air.

Carl is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Benoit) Steinfield.

Carl is survived by his wife Miriam [Bunny] (Rand) Steinfield, his son David Steinfield and his
wife Vesta, his daughter Beth (Steinfield) Hudson and her husband Jay, his granddaughter
Kimberly Hudson and her husband Kenneth Richards, his granddaughter Deanna Hudson, as
well as several cousins, a nephew and a niece.
