Albert Pond, age 95, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026. He was born on June 4, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan.
Albert proudly served in the United States Army as an H.S. Radio Operator. Following his military service, he dedicated over 71 years as a union member in Michigan, working on missile silos and many other remarkable projects throughout his long and hardworking career.
Albert leaves behind his daughter, Carrie Raney of California; his loving life partner, Marge Ziegler; and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, humor, and unforgettable spirit.
Known by many as the “Dancing King,” Albert lit up every room and every dance floor he stepped onto. Even in his 90s, he had more energy than people half his age. He had a heart of gold, a love for life, and an adventurous spirit that inspired everyone around him. Whether planning his next vacation, enjoying time shares and cruises, or simply sharing cocktails and laughter with Marge and friends, Albert embraced every moment to the fullest.
Albert was truly a showstopper, someone people naturally gravitated toward and deeply loved. His zest for life proved that age should never stop anyone from living fully, loving deeply, and dancing whenever possible.
He will be greatly missed and forever remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of life is in the planning and will be announced
